Thanks to a Great Horned Owl that made it's presence known in our back yard I came accross the Audubon website that let me map the sighting.
They had some great trips planned that members and non members could attend and this trip was one of them. It was a great time for the whole family but man was it cold !! We saw a Northern Screech about 5 minutes into the tour and another about 25 minutes after that. The Northern Saw-whet and the Great horned were a no show....
The guide for the trip was slightly unaware of his group (about 20-25 people) leaving some lagging way behind, Talking and telling stories while those left in the dust were still catching up. Some folks did get left out and he shoujld have been better about paying attention to the entire group.
I would highly recomend this trip if you can get into it next time it is offered.
Next trip is to go and check out the rumored 5 Snowy owls currently residing at Duxbury Beach !!
Dress warm in layers and be ready to walk fast. A good LED or Xnenon flashlight and a good headlight are highly advised by this explorer.
Relax enjoy and take it all in....................
