Story: Community Connection board members were instrumental in getting the first equestrian access gates installed along the C-18 Canal in 1999 (now part of the Ocean to Lake Greenway). Today these gates have become the official access points for Jupiter Farms and Palm Beach Country Estates to the Greenway and its connective trail system. Environmental Resource Management has worked with equestrians to provide continued access and the beautiful Luckey Tract trails. This trail adventure starts at the Jupiter Farms equestrian gate at 154th Rd. N. and the C-18. It continues to the Loxahatchee Slough - Luckey Tract, which was previously a cattle ranch called The Luckey Buck Ranch. Today, it is part of a natural area preserve. Community Connection, Inc. is the official organization for the stewardship of these trails. Remember, Nothing says "Thank you" like Staying on the Trails.
Tips: There are a variety of trail loops that can be made utilizing the Luckey Tract Trails (yellow, white, blue), Canal 7 and the C-18 Canal. For round-trip to Jupiter Farms from the Luckey Tract, add 1.9 miles for a total of 10.2 miles. Note that the "orange" trail near the C-7 Kiosk indicates it is the Florida Trail. This is for hikers only. Both user groups have worked very hard to preserve trails in this portion of the Loxahatchee Slough that protect the history and enjoyment of their trails in the spirit of their forefathers.
