John Turner and I did a 2 day, 20 mile backpacking trip.
It was my first overnight camping trip carrying everything on my back - the 30lb pack certainly made the rollercoaster like hike more exhausting!
The Sykes campsite actually has a natural hot springs which hikers have dammed up to create a cascade of hottubs, but they were already crowded by the time we arrived so we didn't get to have a dip.
