Story:
This was one of my first trips on my new SUP! I was so fortunate that we had great October weather -- in the 80's! Despite the warm temps, there was no one in the bay and I had it all to myself to explore. No winds and the surface was smooth. I saw several ponies in the marsh and many birds. I even paddled with a blue crab for a couple of meters! When I got to the beach at the island, I couldn't help but a take a little break and just sit for a few minutes treasuring the silence and solitude and beauty. I truly love Assateague and seeing it by paddleboard is amazing!
