Story: Community Connection is the official organization for stewardship of equestrian trails in Riverbend Park, through their stewardship committee Riverbend Trail Riders. Established in 2003, the not-for-profit organization has been dedicated to preserving trails, improving community access, and connecting to Greenways. In 2005 and in 2006 Community Connection pioneered the historical, inaugural Ocean to Lake Equestrian Event where Riverbend Park was the central recognition honoring the Seminole Native American history, respect for the environment, and preservation of the history of horses on these lands. A Ring of Unity, crafted and presented by  Seminole representatives, was presented in Riverbend Park and carried on horseback by 9 communities over 50 miles, all the way to Lake Okeechobee. Today, Palm Beach Country Estates, Jupiter Farms, Wind in the Pines and Caloosa can enjoy direct equestrian "ride-in" access to Riverbend Park via the Ocean to Lake Greenway. Remember, Nothing says "Thank you" like Staying on the Trails!
Tips: There are 3 community, equestrian "ride-in" entrances into Riverbend Park from the Greenway (C-18 Canal). Currently there are no areas for public trailer parking, except Sandhill Crane Park on PGA & the C-18. The equestrian trails are marked with a white-tipped post, with separate trails for bicycles and hiking. There is a western trail area, and an eastern trail area, connected by the Greenway. The trails offer shaded picnic tables, an out-house and informational Kiosks with hitch posts, a water crossing (dry conditions now with drought), wildlife including deer, endangered birds, and wild turkeys, and an open-field, horse playground on the north end of the east trail (at the Kiosk). There is currently construction underway at the western entrance.
