Story:
Next Monday will be Labor Day, so this could be the last trip this summer unless I can still go out again tomorrow. It is a long trip with total on-the-water time about 6 hours, similar to the 9PM return trip end at Sherman’s bridge. The 1st half of river is at least 100 yards wide and not many residential houses visible due to the Great meadows on right. The 2nd half (downstream of the river street) of river is about 50 yards most of places and current picks up. Near the end of trip (after Pollard Street), it is literally water rafting with big rock visible underneath and return trip almost failed. Actually, I only heard the Lowell St Dam and not see it. The loud noise and current with splashing water in distance made me stop about 150 yards away. Story of Two Brothers Rocks: 1st Mass Governor Winthrop’s daughter (South Rock) married Deputy Governor Dudley’s son (North Rock)
