Story: Community Connection, Inc, established in 2003, was instrumental in acquiring equestrian trail preservation and access for the bordering equestrian communities of Jupiter Farms, Palm Beach Country Estates, Wind in the Pines and Caloosa. Previously this area was known as the Luckey Buck Ranch, which was a working cattle ranch. Today, through the protection of Palm Beach County Environmental Resource Management, the trail system is part of a Natural Area preserve and connects into the Ocean to Lake Greenway, for equestrian / hiking use. This trail is beautiful and only accessible through community access gates. Currently there are no provisions for trailer parking with the exception of Sandhill Crane Park, located on the intersection of PGA and C-18 Canal. Community Connection has been accepted by the County as the official organization for the stewardship of equestrian trails in the Lox Slough-Luckey Tract. Remember, Nothing says "Thank you" like Staying on the Trails!
Tips: Equestrian access gate for Jupiter Farms (and Palm Beach Country Estates) is 154th and the C-18 (Greenway) bordering each community. The Eastern Trailhead of the Luckey Tract Trail is located off Canal 7 and is the closest entrance to Jupiter Farms and Palm Country Estates. This is the white trail, which is also accessible from the next Trailhead 1/2 mile West. There are three trails in the Lox Slough - Luckey Tract: Ranch Trail (white), Western Trail (blue) and Central Trail (yellow). This system is bordered by the C-18 Canal, part of the State designated Ocean to Lake Greenway, and Canal 7.
