Story:
This backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail in Great Smoky Mountains National Park was made in 4 1/2 days by four Boys Scouts of Troop 224, Oak Ridge, Tenn., and two leaders. We started at Fontana Dam and headed northward to the other end of the park at Davenport Gap. We stayed at Birch Gap (campsite 113), Derrick Knob, Mt. Collins and Tricorner Knob.
