Story:
Juaquapin Trail and Dyar Springs Trail loop is one of the more shaded trails on the East Mesa. Starting from Park Visitor Center Parking, take the trail into the trees, next to the handicap parking spot, and turn left on Cold Stream Trail following the creek, past the horse corrals, toward the eastern hillsides. Cross the Sweetwater (ease depends on the season), and follow the trail up the hill to the East Side Trail, take a right (south). Follow EST until it forks with Juaquapin Trail. Go LEFT here, angling uphill. This trail climbs through the trees until it crests at an opening, with a cluster of oaks (and some native grinding stones). There are also a couple horse hitching posts. The trail from here heads north, up a hill, then through a nice meadow. Soon it will meet with the Dyar Spring Trail, heading LEFT (west), which switchbacks down to the East Side Trail again. Go LEFT, until you meet the trail back down to the Sweetwater River, and back to the lot.
