This trip is based on the final 2 hikes of the 2011 Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park challenge -
Buckeye and Towpath Trails From Boston to Jaite - From the Boston Store Visitor Center parking lot, follow Boston Mills Road west, cross Riverview Road, and follow the Buckeye Trail sign on your left. Climb the steep hill marked with the blue blazes of the Buckeye Trail. Note that two blue blazes on one tree indicate that you need to turn. The higher blaze indicates which direction. Take the Buckeye Trail across Boston Mills Road and continue down to Blue Hen Falls. Backtrack a few yards to rejoin the Buckeye Trail and continue up a steep hill. Cross Columbia Road. After going down the steep stairs, cross Snowville Road and follow the road to the right. Cross Riverview Road, following the connector trail to the Cuyahoga River. Turn right onto Vaughn Road and follow the road across the river to the Towpath Trail. Turn right and follow the Towpath Trail back to Boston Store Visitor Center. Buckeye and Valley Trails From Boston to Pine Lane - From Boston Store Visitor Center, head south on the Towpath Trail. After going under the first highway bridge, look for the sign directing you left and uphill. Follow the trail beside the large field. In the woods, turn left onto the Buckeye Trail. After approximately 1 mile, cross over Boston Mills Road. Hike a half a mile, turn left onto the road, cross the bridge and look for the trail on your right. Follow the Buckeye Trail south. Watch for blue blazes until you reach Pine Lane Trailhead. Once at the trailhead, turn left (right of the restrooms if you’re facing them) and take the Valley Trail north. Once you reach the intersection of the Buckeye and Valley Trails, turn right onto the Buckeye Trail and follow it back to Boston Store Visitor Center.
