Story:
This is the place to go if you want to see more than one petrified tree at Yellowstone. It's a steep hike, but well worth it for the view and what you'll find at the top. You might want to use hiking poles and bring plenty of water. Near the top you can go your own way, the trail isn't really necessary, and you might lose it. If you have a few hours and want something special, consider this.

Check guidebooks, you might want to keep hiking along the ridge here – this is just the shortest hike to see some great petrified trees.
Tips:
  • Consider hiking poles, it's very steep
  • Bring lots of water
  • Watch out for buffalo chips
