Story:
This is a Windy Hill hike that includes Hamms Gulch. Hamms Gulch is a shaded path that takes you from Portola Valley, gradually up to Skyline Boulevard. You are rewarded by sweeping views of the Peninsula and the East Bay hills. Fog and wind are common as you approach the top. At the top, you continue on a portion of the Lost Trail, until connecting with the Spring Ridge trail for the return. Spring Ridge trail is fully exposed and can be very hot mid-summer.
