Story:
A great little hike along the American River. Not much elevation, and very scenic. Great for dogs (many are off leash) with some easy access to the river for them to cool off. A nice little waterfall at the end tops it off, although it might be dry in the summer.

Tips:
Go early, it gets a little crowded later in the day with people hanging out on the beach at the trail head. Also, keep in mind that the last couple miles to get to the trail head is on a gravel road that is not very well maintained. Bring cash if you don't have a pass, sometimes the road down is manned by park rangers.
