Story:
This is not a trip for the weak or the dayhiker. It's a fairly tough hike unless you are in very good physical condition, something I am not.

Day 1 was easy enough except for the unexpected high water crossing of La Verkin Creek. Total mileage to La Verkin Campsite #15 was 7.18 miles.

Day 2 was a tough day just because of the total mileage and the terrain. Our plan was to make it to the West Rim Campsite #9 but we fell short by about 1/2 mile and ended up camping just off the trail in Wildcat Canyon. This was after starting out at 8am and hiking all day and into the night. We stopped at 9pm.
The toughest part of the day was the knee deep snow we had to hump through. We ended up hiking through approx 5 miles of snow without snow shoes.

Day 3 was not bad compared to the previous day. Only 8.8 miles for day 3 and only a bit of it through snow. We made it to camp (West Rim campsite #3) early enough to enjoy the sunset.

Day 4, our final day was a fairly easy 6.5 miles and mostly downhill. We made it to the Grotto around noon and grabbed the shuttle to the main visitors center where we left one car. From there we shuttled back to our other car at Lee Pass.

Great trip report, thx! Was the trail difficult to follow? It seems that is mentioned in several trip reports I've read.
