Story:
I came with a group of friends for a ski trip. I knew nothing about downhill skiing but had been on XC skis (once) before, so I decided to take to the trails.
Snow fell all day with temperatures right around freezing.
I left the lodge about 10:30am and headed up the switchbacks. Unfortunately, I found my skis accumulating snow to the point where they may as well have been snowshoes. About 11:50 I turned around and headed back for lunch, along with a visit to the Cross-Country Center where a bit of liquid wax greatly improved the situation.
At 1pm I set off again, this time making a loop around the Meadow trails and stopping at the Caboose Hut.
After we regrouped, I tried joining friends on the Village Run... and only crashed 3 times.
