Story:
This was the only open water I could find. I called Chicago Canoe Base and spoke with Ralph Freeze who told me about this stretch. The water was barely deep enough to float my Nova Craft Cronje. I had installed a center seat over Christmas. The center seat in that big of boat worked perfect on this trip. It took me about 3 hours round trip on this one. I had to portage around a snag about 1/2 way up. You can see a video of this trip on Youtube at:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30etNU2l9GQ

The portage video is at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxz0oiqsuqg

Tips:
This is a trip for high water only. This is called the Salt Creek.
