Story:
On our final day in Hawaii we took the bus and hiked to Manoa Falls. The hike to the falls was pretty quick (and the viewing area was crowded) so we decided to continue along the trail up to the ridge. This was the type of hike that I expected to experience in Hawaii: huge plants, waterfalls, and lots of thick bamboo forests.

This was the type of hike that I expected to experience in Hawaii: huge plants, waterfalls, and lots of thick bamboo forests.
We found that we could climb up a bamboo stalk about 10 feet before we were scared that it would break and we would break our legs.
Eventually we made it to the top of the ridge after we hiked along a makeshift trail that just ended all of a sudden. We were hoping for unobstructed views of the ocean but it never happened.
During the hike down our legs started to get pretty sore (especially after playing in a 3-day tournament), but at the end we relaxed with some shaved ice as we waited for the bus.

Glad you liked it. I'm actually flying back to Oahu in a couple hours so I may have to re-hike it soon
