Hiking | 5.1 miles
This is a nice little 5 mile hike in the foothills above Claremont, CA on a well maintained fire road. It is easily accessible at the end of Mills Avenue and open to hikers, walkers, runners, mountain bikers, and equestrians. If you take the loop going right to left, you are greeted with a nice Live Oak and Sycamore shaded trail which soon becomes a steepening ascent to the top. Once on the top you will...

Hiking | 5.8 miles
Twelve of us hiked this roughly 6 mile trail to the Romero Pools. As the pictures show, the water was flowing nicely - which isn't the usual case here in the Sonoran Desert.

Mountain biking | 15.6 miles
This past weekend our group had a great opportunity of an open access day of Limestone Canyon, presented by the Irvine Conservancy.  We had an opportunity to take a nice size group and it was a great time having the opportunity to ride undisturbed trails that provided some natural character!  The trail was pristine and the event was very well organized with volunteers throughout helping us get around.  We took advantage of...

Tenerife in 4 days
by michal_s on Mar 28, 2009
Canary Islands, Spain
Driving | 313 miles
Around Tenerife in 4 days. Really tight schedule, but worth it. To my surprise Tenerife was really diverse and each part of it showed something new. Although not as walker friendly as Madeira, next time I would leave the car and spend some time exploring it on foot.

Terrific hike on a terrific day!  Lots of variety and views on this 6 mile loop hike.  Clear skies, temps in the 60's.  Went with a group of about 40 people, members of our Meetup.com hiking group. Our route was a gradual assent that first winds around to the back side of the peak.  Then after reaching the peak, a relatively short direct descent back to the parking lot.  You will see stunning...

Romero Canyon and Loop trail
by BlujnsNPearls on Mar 28, 2010
Tucson, Arizona, United States
Hiking | 6.5 miles
Catalina State Park has several trails you can take from the parking lot.  This day we did two of them.  The Romero Canyon trail to the pools.  On the way back we did the loop trail as well.  It was a very nice day and the wildflowers were  beginning to give a show.  As a result there were many, many people on the trail.

Alamo Canyon--Catalina State Park
by kirkastroth on Dec 29, 2012

Hiking | 3.3 miles
Great loop hike that is not detailed on any of the state park maps.  There are two ways to begin.  At the large parking lot just east of the road into the campground, or at the Romero Ruins park and picnic site.  The best way to go in my opinion is from the first parking lot.  You cross the road, follow an obvious trail across the wash and head down the wash...

As you can see the app. didn't record a damn thing. Not sure why it's not working. Anyway, the original group was supposed to be 3 but as usual someone had to dropout last minute. In this case it was my buddy Uriel which bummed me out because I've been wanting to show off the "wings" on his bike with my friend Hector (Uriel claims his bike gets wings when he starts...
