Also, there\'s a big race this weekend that kept a few of the big dogs away, I think. Although, there quite a bit of kvetching about how crowded Sea Otter is, so crowded in fact that no one goes there anymore, thank you Yogi Berra. On these alternate Thursdays, the ride is longest in distance, going out past the climb at Canada College and on to Rte 92, and then back. But I didn\'t have the extra half hour, so like a few others, I returned home after the College.

mlvlvr: Joining the Women's Team

Did the Noon Ride, today's variation being known colloquially as Quart of My Blood. ... i took the easy way out. Afterwards, I rode with former Olympian Linda Jackson, and got outfitted with a set of clothes for her cycling team, Team TIBCO, an elite women's cycling team based here in Palo Alto. They have men's sizes, ;)

mlvlvr: Noon Ride sans Corte Madera

tired bodies littered the landscape. One wrote the following:>
> Today's route: Corte Madera
> Weather conditions: fair, 60, light wind
>
> *Sprint #1: Woodside Town Limit sign*
> Venerable noonrider and current state crit champion Andy Jesse (AJ) took
> this one by a wheel. I was kind enough to lead him out. I wish I had a
> picture of his fist-thumping self-congratulations after winning this highly
> coveted sprint bonus. Made it seem like he'd just won a tour stage.
> Classic.
>
> *Sprint #2: Olive Hill*
> Just back from Redlands Teddy Huang took this one. I came after him and was
> about even with him at the line but he was not going too hard at that point.
>
> *Aggressive-rider award*
> Eric N from Lombardi took off with a tall rider from Team 650 (need his
> name) after Olive Hill and worked together off the front until we got to the
> last uphill section on Portola. Very nice effort. We weren't exactly
> dogging it behind them. Ted set a strong tempo on the Sand Hill "Berg." I
> also threw it down a bit there. We pulled back a chunk of ground there but
> those two managed to stay off for a long stretch more.
>
> *The Finale*
> Postal Dylan took a solo flyer before the climb. He certainly got a good
> interval out of that effort. This is a really difficult move to hold off
> the pack since we had the infamous Corte de Madera (10% plus) coming up.
> Postal stayed off the front into the first part of the climb. But our
> grupetto of 4 with French, Ted, Scotty Frake and I passed him as he faded.
>
> Ted took the KOM and kept on going. Scotty, Frenchy and I traded some weak
> pulls behind and failed to reel him in. Ted stuck it out and finished about
> 100 meters in front at the Firehouse to take the stage victory. No salute
> to the crowd, though. Standard procedure for Teddy.
