Defiance]]></title><description><![CDATA[A very nice, but slightly buggy trip. &amp;nbsp;Yellow jackets very active at the summit, and not too bad on the rest of the trail. &amp;nbsp;Wasn't stung, but wasn't allowed to rest much either.Saw more critters than all my other summer hikes combined. &amp;nbsp;Six grouse, a few deer, and a really cute big fluffy owl, who seemed to want to follow me through the trees for awhile. <br><img src="http://images.everytrail.com/pics/thumbnail/579430-Mt_Defiance_001.jpg"/> <img src="http://images.everytrail.com/pics/thumbnail/579431-Mt_Defiance_002.jpg"/> <img src="http://images.everytrail.com/pics/thumbnail/579432-Mt_Defiance_003.jpg"/> <img src="http://images.everytrail.com/pics/thumbnail/579433-Mt_Defiance_008.jpg"/> ]]></description><guid>http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=342230</guid><link>http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=342230</link><pubDate>Fri, 4 Sep 2009 16:36:33 -0500</pubDate></item><item><title><![CDATA[Ruckel Ridge Loop]]></title><description><![CDATA[Pictures are from my Aug 22nd trip with Johnson, except for the trailhead and the view looking up at the catwalk.Aug 25&amp;nbsp;was a solo hike, so I avoided excessive exposure on the catwalk, and nobody else was on the trail all day.&amp;nbsp; Good to be cautious when necessary.Weather was perfect - overcast, cool, and dry.&amp;nbsp; I don't think I could do this hike any faster, unless I ran wherever I could.&amp;nbsp; It was fun getting to navigate the trail on my own the whole way up the ridge!Once again, the pictures are not in &quot;perfect&quot; order of the hike itself.&amp;nbsp; Also, if you like GoogleEarth, don't forget to click on the link for it!
