After the type of rainy season recently in the area , I was a bit reluctant to commit to a previously relaxing meander, fearing swollen, raging currents. I was wonderfully satisfied with the outcome .... peaceful , reflective, calming. Exploring the 'Black river' was indeed a cherished event as was the companionship of the fellow canoeists(and their food contributions).
