Where does the 50mph speed spike come from?

I did this hike in 2 days with a 50# pack. I spent a lot of time at my campsite at SW4 and on the rim shooting photographs.

Re: SPeed Spike. Just a weird thing that happens to me occasionally with the GPS. It tracks me as somewhere further away from where I really am, therefore it thinks I walked there in a short amount of time, showing up as a higher speed. This especially happens on trails like these where the mountains cause problems getting a solid signal. That's my theory anyways.

The views from South Rim as epic, but my pictures never turn out very well because of the haze coming from Mexico. Perhaps if you go after a rain storm blows in from the north.
