About Me
When I was a kid growing up in Denmark, my parents frequently took us on weekend walks in the woods. During the fall, we'd go with other family members on mushroom picking expeditions followed by butter sauteed mushrooms on crispy toast. Luckily we never ate poisonous varieties. (If we had, alpha lipoic acid IVs would have saved our livers - but doctors would not have known about that)...Anyway, I got sidetracked for decades. Now in my 40s I may be rediscovering the outdoors again. Although I've had hiking boots and Leki trekking poles for some time, I have not really made use of the great outdoors Northern California has to offer.As my interest develops, I hope to meet like minded individuals. Besides hiking, I would like to backpack, camp, kayak and cycle. (Bicycling is my primary means of transportation in San Francisco. I once took a cycle trip around Tuscany, Italy and loved it).
