About Me
A writer (Frommer's "California for Dummies," "San Francisco for Dummies," the original Frommer's "San Francisco with Kids," the "Berlitz Pocket Guide to Vancouver"), editor, and self-styled impresario, I've lived in London since 2000. When I'm in town, I host free literary and music events at a cafe in my West Hampstead neighbourhood; when I'm not in town, I could be visiting family in California or I could be examining the wares in shoe stores and chocolate shops somewhere in Europe. My travel philosophy is fairly simple: eat well, wander around, talk to the locals, and when you get tired, find a nice cafe and order a drink.
