“To create a continuous world class metropolitan river valley park, right in the Capital Region of Alberta, Canada. The park will travel from Devon through Parkland County, Leduc County, Edmonton, Strathcona County, and Sturgeon County to Fort Saskatchewan.
The RVA vision balances protecting the natural capital of the river valley while ensuring our residents and visitors can access and enjoy the river valley for a variety of active and passive pursuits.
The River Valley Park covers 18,000 acres linking over 88 kilometres of lands through the North Saskatchewan River valley. It is destined to become a world-class river front park that would be to the Capital Region what Stanley Park is to Vancouver or Central Park is to New York. The area already enjoys over 10 million visitors a year. Come and explore our park!
"The River Valley Alliance is creating one of the largest connected urban parks in the world, right here in Alberta's Capital Region! 22 times larger then Central Park at 18,000 acres, our park system is already recognized as being the largest in North America and we want to be even better.
