"Port Ludlow hiking club hiked for a week out of Hood River. Some of the best hikes in the Northwest. Club members hiked over 30 easy to challenging hikes. Very reasonable accommodations in Hood River. High vistas, breathtaking waterfalls and rivers, old forests - all well maintained. "

"Port Ludlow hiking club hikes the Olympics every other Friday year around. Hikes rate from easy to challenging, provide great vistas, old forests, lakes and rivers, waterfalls. Hikes from Duckabush to Spruce Railway - at least 30 more"

"Paradise Area has lots of trails but accommodations are expensive
Cle Elum area has many options (directional) for hikes and accommodations at Cle Elum are reasonable
Packwood area has fantastic trails and accommodations are very reasonable"

Olympic National Park is located in the U.S. state of Washington, in the Olympic Peninsula. The park can be divided into three basic regions: the Pacific coastline, the Olympic Mountains, and the temperate rainforest. U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt originally created Olympic National Monument in 1909 and after Congress voted to authorize a redesignation to National Park status, President Franklin Roosevelt signed the legislation in 1938.

Mount Rainier National Park is located in west-central Washington and is ideal for hiking, mountain climbing and scenic drives. Most roads are open from late May to early October, which allow for both stunning views and access to a wide range of hiking trails and other sites. Hikers will find forests with cedar, hemlock, and fir trees as well as streams and wildflower meadows.

Just taking a drive through the Columbia River Gorge is an experience in itself as you will be in awe of this spectacular geological wonder.

Puget Sound is the region in Washington between the Cascade and Olympic Mountains. The region is named for the large body of saltwater with tentacles of inlets and channels reaching from the Pacific Ocean south for more than 80 miles. Seattle is the largest city in Puget Sound and in the Pacific Northwest. The east side of Puget Sound is a metropolitan complex of cities with a population of more than a million.
