dor2427 - Bonita Springs is about 1-1/2 hours from Sarasota. The Imperial is a great river to kayak but on its own its not worth the travel time. If you were in Bonita Springs area for other reasons I would suggest it. You can also kayak the Imperial from my set in point west to the gulf of Mexico and its about 5 miles for that route. 4.7km, in case you haven't tried it, move the cursor to the bottom of the map, click the icon on the right showing Statistics Mode, you will see the distance and time.

Any fishing allowed at the pond..i went there yesterday in the evening and it was peaceful...i need to fish!!
