Awesome Hike I bet. I Hiked to Rainbow Bridge two years ago from the South Trail. I want to do this route next.
We are looking to hike this trail in June and boat out, but do not know the logistics of getting our car from the trailhead to the marina. There are two of us, and both of us are doing the hike. Who dropped you off at the trailhead and brought your car to the marina? Is there a shuttle service?
You must have a permit from the Navajo Nation to hike this trail. We had two members of our group who were Navajo and they obtained the permits for all of us and arranged the shuttling of the vehicles. This trip took a lot of planning! I would not recommend hiking this trail alone because you would be in violation of Navajo Nation law. It was really an honor to be able to backpack this trail due to its protected status.
