NaturePods sprung from the simple idea of putting a wealth of information fingertip close. As long time naturalists, we, founders Tom and Nancy Condon, desire to share with you, the fascinating and inspiring stories of nature especially that held in trust for us in our national parks.

Prior to fulfilling a life-long dream to experience the unique natural history of the Galapagos Islands, Tom accumulated a huge stack of books in preparation. Not being able to get through them, much less take them along, Tom decided to put some of the pertinent information in video form on our newly purchased iPod. Not long thereafter he was gazing over the railing of our ship, listening to what a fascinating creature the frigatebird is on his iPod, while at the same time, watching the bird soar above his head. See Tom’s bio.

Having been an environmental educator for 27 years, Nancy is getting tired having the tree identification guide, bird book, wildflower guide and other field guides weigh down her backpack. She’s getting too old for that! Instead, all the information packed into those guides can be repackaged and put onto an iPod or other mp3 device and fit nicely into a pocket. In fact, more natural history, fascinating facts, descriptive photos can be provided without more weight or space. See Nancy’s bio.

Having over 50 years of environmental education experience within and outside parks, Tom and Nancy have a soft spot and great respect for park naturalists. NaturePods enables you to learn insights directly from knowledgeable park experts. When you benefit from their expertise, they also benefit from your purchase.
