We spent the weekend with the Webelos Scouts at Pinnacles NM. For our hike we went up Bear Gulch, along the ridge via High Peaks, and then back to the start via Condor Gulch: lots of fun with a group of about 25 kids and adults. It was impressive to watch the masive trees swaying the the breeze as it whooshed overhead. The trail was damp, but not muddy. There were lots of mushrooms sprouting along the trail. We pretty much had the hike to ourselves: only a couple of other groups passed us along...
A nice hike in the Belmont open space with my family to do cache maintainance. We took a side trip around Water Dog Lake, which turned out to be a bit of an adventure since the trail was very overgrown.
