Hiking Trails and Trips
Trips
Awesome hike! We saw a mountain lion, rattle snake, and a brown bear. The waterfalls were spectacular and the scenes majestic. I was an idiot and did this in sandals...I definitely do not recommend that. Probably the reason I didn't make it to the top either. A little bummed about that but I'll be back with my son and complete it.
Geocaching in the park. Good hike with a little elevation change towards the second half of the hike.
I ventured out to make it to Bee Branch Falls but didn't quite make it. So I left the Borden Creek Camping area and hiked on the west side of the creek. I think the actual trail is on the east side even though there is a nice trail on the west side. There were a few tricky places just because of the amount of rain in the area recently. We hiked...
Great day hike to some really nice waterfalls! Muddy on the first half if it's rained a great deal and gets pretty narrow on the second half.

Nice state park with two lakes and this little nature trail loops around the lower lake.
Great loop trail in McIntosh Reserve! Starts and ends at the Chattahoochee River. This trail runs along the river and then cuts back into the flood plains. Then it winds back and forth around the property boundry to bring you back to the river. Posted some pics to let you see what it looks like! Have fun!
The Civilian Conservation Corps Rd to Rock Bridge

This will be a great hike and one you will be glad you made when you get to the rock bridge which will make you want to just sit down and enjoy nature for awhile. Clear mountain water, sand bars, rocks, ledges, and much more to see and mess around with. This is only a section of the road and if you continued about four miles you would come out very close to Friendship...
We drove up to the parking area in our truck and parked and hiked down the trail back to Lake Chinabee Campground. We had two vehicles so that made this really nice. The hike is pretty moderate and mostly in the backcountry. You do cross an old road no longer in use and several swimming holes. One of the highlights is Devil's Den Falls the other waypoint on the trail.
