The second cascade on our road trip (Shasta was first).
Hike to Camp Muir started with sunny skies and ended in a whiteout if snow and winds.
It cleared by early evening, and at our 4am start was perfect weather.
Hike to summit was long as there was no clear trail and the Ingraham ice fall took quite some time to navigate.
Summit was very windy. Could see as far as Jefferson.
Descent was really hot, but...
Day 1: TH to Shepherds Pass, second lake at base of Tyndall to camp. Tip; as soon as you toop off on Shepherd's Pass ditch the trail and head South for TyndallDay 2: Camp to Williamson. Boulder field miserable work especially in a thunderstorm. Back to Camp.Day 3: Camp to Tyndall, Northeast rib. Lost route at top and had to crawl over slabs to get back to the notch. not much snow till the ski hut, then straight up the bowl practicing some rope team work for upcoming trip, glissading on the way back down. perfect snow, and a great day.grade around 55 degrees near the top of the bowl.

On trail by 5:30 AM. Headlamps until the ledges, and then made easy time up to Iceburg Lake. Drinking 2 liters at each lake. Started up toward notch from Iceburg and followed the narrow gully on the left, instead of the larger scree gully on the right. Probably more class 3 climbing than expected at this stage, still fun.
