Poia Lake is on the Red Gap Trail out of the Many Glacier
Valley in the NE corner of Glacier National Park. Red Gap Trail is one of two
trails from the Many Glacier area that lead into Elisabeth Lake, the other is
the Ptarmigan Tunnel Trail.
This is a fairly easy but scenic ride, it is only 7.5
miles one way and the trail is not steep. However it is rocky in places and horseshoes
are required....

Horseback Riding | 4.3 miles
Glacier National Park, Snyder Lake Trail. This is a really nice day ride with easy access. Round trip is just over 8 miles, it takes us around an hour and a half each way. The trail is generally in really good shape. We use it for day rides with a picnic lunch. Stop at Woody’s and get sandwiches. The lake has small cutthroat trout but we have never fished it, should be...

Horseback Riding | 8.3 miles
Glacier National Park, west side. Lincoln Lake trail from Lake McDonald, 8.3 miles one way to Lincoln Lake and Beaver Chief Falls. This is not a good hiking trail but Lincoln Lake is really beautiful. The trail climbs out of the Lake McDonald Valley across a lateral glacial moraine. The first three miles are steady uphill and really steep in places, then you descend the other side of the moraine. Lincoln Lake is...
Updated 9/11/2011This is the primary route for the Foy’s to Blacktail
Trail. There are numerous ways to travel from Herron Park to Blacktail Mountain.
I have been riding this route for years and have refined it over time in an
attempt to avoid boggy areas and really steep areas.
This trail is not maintained, signed, marked or mapped. It
is primitive, at best. There is no bail-out point other than the Patrick
Creek-Emmons Road on the Forest Service....
