This was a family walk across the Brooklyn Bridge from Manhattan to Brooklyn on a Friday in May. After lunch at Caffe de la Presse, we crosssed Bush street to pass through the fabulous gates of Chinatown. It really is a transporting experience to walk under the beautiful dragons and begin a gentle upward slope through tightly-packed and colorful shops. The entrance and first block are really peaceful. Went hiking with my friend Stephanie, who just moved to Reno with her family. It was a beautiful hike, with diverse terrain and great views. I didn't start recording the trip with my iPhone until we were turning around to head back, so my guess is this was a 5 mile hike.
