The sports medicine doctor walked in with my x-rays in his hand and gave me the bad news, "Your knees are getting worn and don't like your running. You have to begin cross-training."
By this he meant exercise that doesn't pound the knees. So now I'm beginning to add walks and biking to my exploration, even swimming and weights.
BUT I can still run just not as much. New shoes the doctor...
We bought Trek bikes last year and got them out for first ride today. Felt great. Saw nice birds along the way including a Mute Swan and Indigo Bunting. I rode 4.4 miles and Janet joined me for last 2 miles.
Two weeks ago I ran with new shoes that did not support my ankles and tore some tendons in my Achilles Heel. I was disappointed since I love running. The sports doctor coached me on the right shoes and I have to refrain from running for another week. So, I got on a friend's bike to try out biking. I rode 15 miles today! I loved it.
