Our quarterly overnight trip for the Florida 67 Riders, in winter we usually try to head south. The weather was terrific this year, as it often is. The overnight stops were the historic Kenilworth Lodge in Sebring, and Uncle Joe's Fish Camp on Lake Okeechobee near Moore Haven.

The theme this winter was to be BLUE and the destination the Blue Light Diner. But in the months since planning this ride, it has changed to a barbecue place and now the Classic Cafe. We were fortunate that they only reopened 4 weeks ago.

It's been awhile since we rode to Jackson County, this trip was a return to Lake Seminole Lodge. After trying a few other places, I still prefer staying on the lake.
This was the return route from my vacation ride to Pocohontas County West Virginia. Stops along the way included Route 16 (Back of the Dragon), Mount Rogers area, US 58 (the Crooked Road) Damascus Virginia, Roan Mountain Tennessee, the Rattler, and Dillard House Georgia.

My Independence Day 2012 trip included a railroad excursion at Cass Scenic Railroad State Park. The park maintains several Shay geared steam locomotives for rides to a reconstructed logging camp, and the top of Bald Knob one of the highest points in West Virginia.
A lunch ride to Kick n Back Cafe on State Route 40 in Ocala National Forest
This was a loop ride through the Green Swamp area of Florida, headwaters of several major central Florida rivers. The destination was Kafe Kokapelli in Dade City although we found it closed for the holiday weekend. Still a nice ride, a short one for a hot Florida day.
