I was curious if I could get a GPS track inside the airplane. You can but it drains the battery pretty quickly. Still pretty cool
A simple hike after a day in the Provo water park. Had a great time at the bottom of the falls. Many beautiful views of the falls
Usual hot summer day in the valley so the goal was to get as high as possible. Some folks weren't interested in going all the way to the top. The lounging moose was a bonus
A fun and simple hike off Mill D. More info
They are not terribly well hidden thankfully. A simple and easy stop on the way down
Wanted to do some biking and this seemed like a cool way to see a lot. The section near the bottom (before the road) was my favorite. Not too steep and a beautiful downhill run through the forest.
We finally got around to checking out Timpanogos Cave. A pretty tough walk up to the cave then a fun trip through 3 caves. Would have loved to do the tour of the cave again - perhaps next year combined with the picnic lunch 1/4 mile away and then a stop at the water park.
We drove to Vernal and arrived early enough to check out the petroglyphs and catch a beautiful sunset on the way back. I wonderful cool late in the day hike.
Ken and Anja took us to Draper for a great mountain ride to test out new bikes for Eb/Brad and Kevin. Maripat and Kevin opted for the shorter run near the bottom. The rest made it to the top and had the great run down with banked turns and one way traffic. Well worth the way up and down.
We arrived late the night before and Eb joined me on a ride with Anja and Ken early the following morning. A pretty tough uphill given the altitude change and the late arrival the night before. A fun downhill and a great chance to use a real bike for this kind of stuff.
Quick 3 day trip to Holden Beach. Water was perfect and as you can see there are no crowds on Holden Beach.
I was invited to join my 7th grade daughter's canoe trip up and down the Haw River. It wasn't as serene as the pictures. "Water fight" simply doesn't go far enough to describe the soaking folks got...The wonderful, friendly guides not only helped the beginners get going and kept the mayhem within reason but also showed us a beautiful river and thankfully rescued the prescription sunglasses I accidentally left on the shore.May North Carolina continue...
Kevin and I head to the Carrboro Farmers Market on Saturdays via Bike. Luckily we've found a way to get there that involves a minimal amount of time on roads (and where when we are stuck on a road it has a wide shoulder). After, we head down the hill to Food Lion where Maripat picks him up (along with 4 watermelons which probably wouldn't fit on the bikes...)
The route here is my bike from the hotel to soccer (and back).
I was out in rural NC at Kevin's kids Lacrosse game and heard it was a nice bike ride back to Southern Village. It was. More hilly than I expected but pretty quiet
