Great day hike around Moore's Wall Loop with a good bunch of folks. Hike took about 4 hours with a long lunch break and a stop at the top of the wall. Great Vista view from the top and a pretty easy hike for most people. This hike is kid and pet friendly for the most part. Until next time.

A day hike after camping out the night before at Mount Mitchell State PARk. We overslept, so we could only do part of the Mount Mitchell Trail. Awesome views especially atop Mount Craig. Can't wait to head back and backpack the entire trail. Until next time.
WE went out for a short day hike at Pilot to check the views and watch the Rock Climbers for a bit. Very enjoyable spot and so close to home.
We hiked the Stone Mountain Loop and veered off to see two more waterfalls, although the creek was high and we had to turn around 1.2 miles into the waterfall trail. This is one of my favorite state park hikes in NC. The view from the bottom near the farm structures and the top of Stone are amazing. We spent an hour watching some of the Rock climbers while we ate lunch. This is a...
1st Backpacking Trip in 15 years. 10 Miles in the Uwharrie. Got me back into it all!
Quite possibly one of my favorite Virginia hikes. This hike is very strenuous, since most of the hike when done clockwise gains in elevation. This hike began at the top of the Blue Ridge Parkway across from the Rocky Knob Campground (A great place to Car Camp). We started left at the trailhead and headed through the field and around the woods. after about a mile of trail you begin to descend the gorge. This is the most treacherous part of...
Great hike up to the top of Hanging Rock and back down again right before a huge rain storm.
WE took an overnight backpacking trip, which could easily be a day hike to McAfee Knob and down the next gap to a campsite. The next day we hike out along a fireroad back to the parking lot (This is not included in the GPS data or the Hike to the campground down the next gap). This view is one of the most spectacular vistas along the AT. This hike begins at a...
This was my birthday hike. A great 6 mile loop hike that spured off the AT trail. We began from the road and curved around Cold Mountain for some great views and snow hiking for the day. This hike is great for kids, pets, and the like. Some friends of mine use this As an overnight backpacking trip for the Boy Scouts at St. Luke's. The only really hard part of the hike is...

We (My girlfriend and I) decided to take a spur of the moment hike/ car camping trip to South Mountains State park. We started at the shorter loop of High Shoals falls which followed the creek and looped around the falls. The view at the falls was spectacular and it began to lightening and rain on our way down. After completing the loop we hiked the 2.5 miles up to Chestnut Knob and back, which was...
