A fun little adventure that started at midnight when we started hiking 14mi down Indians Rd to Escondido campground. There we had a chance to sleep for a couple of hours before starting the Arroyo Seco river adventure. The Arroyo Seco water level varied from the trecherous ankle deep to full on swimming. Originally attempted to do a loop, but ended up doing a wishbone shaped trip. We made it out to Upper Relief Valley on the first night. On the second day we backtracked to summit Black Hawk Mountain, then camped near Saucer Meadow. We hiked out on the third day. 4-Q Lakes in Desolation Wilderness

Lower Forni, California, United States
Backpacking | 22 miles
Our hike started at Wright's Lake, over Rockbound Pass, past Lake Schmidell, and finally to 4-Q Lakes. The high was fairly mellow with moderate elevation gain. The trail is mostly granite so your feet end up hurting fairly bad by the time you're done.
