This version of Mirror Lake has 3 camps each 2 nights. First two nights in Four Lakes Basin, the next two at Lightening Lake, and the final two in Naturalist Basin on Jordan or any of the lakes in that Basin. Each site offers good day hike possibilities to over 12K, as well as hopefully good fishing opportunities. My guess is we will be by ourselves everywhere except our last night in Naturalist...
Another option for our adventure. In this option we have four camps where we spend either 1 or 2 nights each. Two one night camps are needed to cover the ground necessary to reach the lakes I have targeted, which are just too far a stretch for one day. Each lake camp is by a set of lakes that are listed in a Utah DWR pamphlet as being good trout lakes, so...
This was the first idea I had for an adventure, but I believe it is too challenging at over 70 miles in 7 days. The drive behind this route was to see as much as possible and attempt to put a circuit together so that we did not spend too much time on the same trails.
A waypoint only version of an option to get an idea of where we could go.

Just keep on the outside everywhere. Rocky Point, Grand Tour, Laurel Ridge.
Had some time to kill while Susan did some family research so I drove up to Lake Minnewasaka for my first hike in the Gunks. A great place for day hikes. I am sad to see the park is off limits to overnight camping.
I think Hartshorne is my favorite park. During the week the number of Mtn Bikers is almost zero, so really you have the park to yourself if you get there early enough. Today we did pretty much the outer boundary of the park. Andy brought Homer who, showed wear and tear after 5 miles, so we left out the Rocky Point Section. A very nice way to start the day.
To see more Pictures check out my Facebook page for Day 2.Day 2 of this adventure finds us waking early in Bright Angel Campground. Personally I feel I slept very well the previous evening. I, like a few others, chose to sleep out on the ground with nothing but the stars above. With Bright Angel Creek so close by the disturbances due to snoring were non-existent. For everyone besides myself, and the...
