Started the ride up Rankin trail but had problems with low branches. One totally blocks the trail so you have to dismount to get under and my sons taller horse still got the saddle hung up on the limb. Would not recommend for horses until limbs are cleared. Also a very steep narrow trail at the beginning.Then continued up on fire roads around the park and back up to the ridge....

Rode from Park Ave into Wildcat Canyon Park and through the valley on Wildcat Creek trail into Tilden Park.  Stopped at Jewel Lake at the water trough then continued on Loop Road and up Laurel Canyon rd, to the ridge where it intersected with Nimitz Trail. Headed back along the ridge on Nimitz trail. Beautiful views of the San Francisco bay to the west and the San Pablo reservoir to the east....

Beautiful day for a ride! the weather was perfect and the trails in great shape. Buddy even opened 3 gates and held  them open for the others.  Unfortunately I forgot to turn tracking on until after we had started.  Probably missed about 1/2 mile.
