Nice easy ascent of 2400 feet over 5 miles, and back the same way. Went with total of 4 liters of water; used half on way up. Magic Mtn. was a nuclear Nike Missile base that operated between 1955 and 1968. Wikipedia says that this site was the control site and that the launch site was 6 km North, now a quarry. 360 degree view - valley, L.A., Santa Clarita and beyond....

Plenty of rabbits, a spider that was half a foot long, and on the...
Hike to test EveryTrail/GPS on Droid. We followed a route someone else had uploaded, but halfway through the gps cursor apparently stopped moving and we missed the big turn to the east, just kept heading north until we came to an impassable hillside, and then came back.
