Today was pride in San Francisco, which meant that there were people everywhere. My roommate Loren and I walked over to the Civic center to check out a few of the performances on the stage and then played some foosball (they had one set up--weird). Then we walked down 7th street to a local meat company where they were having their annual BBQ, which meant that we had some free wine and...
With an extra hour of sunlight today I decided to walk along the Barbary Coast trail, a historic walk through downtown San Francisco, starting by Union Square and ending at Fisherman's Wharf.I walked through Chinatown, up to Coit Tower on Telegraph Hill, and then along Embarcadero up to Aquatic Park before getting a delicious breadbowl of crab chowder.
David, John and I decided to take advantage of the nice weather in San Fransico today and go for a walk around Lands End. We took a short detour down to the beach where we spent a while taking pictures of the crashing waves and the foam blowing in the wind. We decided to walk by the Palace of the Legion of Honor on the way back and soon found ourselves at...

Today I decided to go on a walk with my friend David who was up in the city visiting. We walked down Haight Street to Golden Gate park and along Ocean Beach at sunset. We took the bus back because it was further than we anticipated.

I went with Loren to the Gilroy Garlic Festival this weekend. We had some good beer, garlic corn, carlic fries, garlic bread, and garlic ice cream--mmmmmmm. I also couldn't resist buying about 3lbs. of garlic cloves. We also watched a cookie show and a Tom Petty cover band called The Refugees. Overall a pretty great time.
I decided to go for a little walk on the beach before driving back home. I saw lots of birds (even saw some pellicans diving into the water) and saw a few fishermen too. I was lucky enough to get a picture of one of them with his catch.
I walked along the beach with Loren and Ariane to Phil's Fish Market. We got a bit of a late start, and it was a mile further than we thought, so we had to call ahead to make sure they weren't closed. It worked out perfectly because we were able to order over the phone and our food was ready by the time we got there. The three of us split a...

Loren, Ariane, and I decided to drive down to Monterey for the weekend to see the new Secret Lives of Seahorses exhibit at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We also saw some Otters, Sharks, Jellyfish, Starfish and Bay Rays. It was a pretty exhausting day and we had a great lunch on Canery Row which consisted of clam chowder in a bread bowl, squid, cod, and shrimp, and oysters on the half shell...
St. Patrick's Church International Festival

Loren, Ariane and I tried to find some lunch in Watsonville before heading back home and we found a great festival with amazing food. Unfortunately we spent money on pizza before we saw what else they had to offer, and filled up too much. I still managed to eat a tostata, taco, strawberries and creme, and a snow cone. What a great thing to stumble upon.
I went to Crissy Field with my family for a nice picnic near the water followed by a short walk to Fort Point, where we learned how to fire a cannon.
We got to Bryce Canyon pretty late, but we had just enough time to catch the end of the sunset at Sunset point, and decided to take the short walk to Sunrise point as well.
Loren and I got to the Grand Canyon pretty late after a full day of driving from Hermosa Beach. We didn't get there in time for a walk-in campsite, so we decided to take a short walk around the rim to see the canyon at sunset. We ended near the lodge where we got some dinner (energy) to prepare us for the next day's hike down to the bottom of the canyon....
Taking some shots for my photography class during "The golden hour" (much better lighting)
An evening walk around Angel Island. The city is beautiful from across the bay this time of the day.
