A beautiful early spring morning (about 60F). Paddled upstream from Cochrane Dam of Village Falls Park in Needham. This part of Charles River is right on the border of Needam and Dover. Came back downstream after arriving the Elm Bank Reservation, near Wellesley. Put in location: 40 Fisher St. Needham MA

A beautiful afternoon walk in the spring break week. Originally planed on yesterday, postponed due to the Boston on lock down following the Boston marathon explosion. Parking at Gun Clun Ln, starting point of trail is the abandoned Central Massachusetts Rail - the same track in front of Wayland Public Library. The major route of trail is good for biking.
Stoneymeade Trail (Acton) to Annursnac Trail (Concord)

The trail starts from Stonymeade Way of Acton and ends Strawberry Rd of Concord. The Acton part is called Stonymeade Trail and Concord part is called Annursnac Trail. The secondary route leads to top of Annursac Hill. The trail condition is great, wide and well labeled. You can park either end of trail. The trail is part of Bay Circuit Trai.

Got this Wildness System Tempest 165 a week ago. Finally, able to get out on the water. "But, I am an Ocean Kayak", said my Tempest 165. "Be patient, you will have plenty of time in those salty water" :) Good put-in location with concrete slope in 32 Shore Dr, Somerville
Spy pond is a kettle pond created aroudn 15,000 years ago by receding glacier. It has a 2-acre Elizabeth Island in the midde. We saw a swan and and a few Canada geese hatching their eggs in the island. The best launching site is on Pond Ln near Arlington Boys and Girls Club, there is a great boating launching ramp.
It is the 2nd NYC trip this year, we rented bikes in Central Park. QiQi is really surprised by the size of the park. He had this comment after finished his ride in the park. "This park is much bigger than the parks in America". Yeah, he think NYC is another country.
