I was looking for a way to keep cool, and do some hiking, while the East Bay was baking. Tennessee Valley Trail > Coastal Trail > Redwood Creek Trail > Miwok Trail
Loop hike including Mt. Olympia, North Peak, Mt. Diablo, Eagle Peak and Twin Peaks. Battery on my GPS watch died toward the end. I think this is about a 16 mile hike.

Nice loop around the Western part of Briones Regional Park. Starting at Bear Creek Staging Area, and riding up the Old Briones Rd. to the Briones Crest. Followed the Briones Crest trail back to the entrance road. There is a short stretch of Single Track at the end.
Started a little before dawn, and walked up Hardy Canyon Trail, and over into Round Valley. Miwok Trail through Los Vaqueros Watershed, and up to Morgan Territory. Came back via Miwok Trail the whole way.

We started out at Point Reyes Bird Observatory/Palomarin trailhead. We were looking for Phantom falls, which we found, but it was a trickle. Looks like it's best to go after a good rain.Alamere Falls was running pretty well, as were the falls above it.

Nice loop hike, with views of Diablo, Round Valley and the Sierra. You can extend by adding a loop around Round Valley.
Another early morning hike up Mission peak. No fog this morning, so the lights of the Cities were shining brightly. I came back down the main fire road, instead of Horse Heaven Trail this time, so that I could see what I missed. The fire road up is like a highway, with hundreds of people making the ascent as I was hiking out.

Loop trail! The Briones Map shows the Sunrise and Buckeye Ranch trails ending at the park boundary, but they connect to make a nice loop, with plenty of views of Mt. Diablo, Diablo Valley, Walnut Creek, and Mt. Tam.

Nice, relatively flat loop around Point Pinole. There are different wetland habitats in this area - Bay, Marsh, and lake, so it is possible to see different types of wildlife in a small area.
