It bugs me that EveryTrail calculates such a
different track length than the GPS software on my phone does. According
to my phone, I ran 10k. That's .7 miles more than EveryTrail says!
Anyway. Whatever. It felt like 10k to me. And I'm just happy to be
running this much at all, especially since it's a rocky, hilly, twisting
dirt trail, and I'm recovering from a knee injury. I got my time...
My fourth 10 km run in Hart's Brook Preserve. I pushed myself at the beginning--perhaps too hard. My first km averaged over 12 km/hr but I slowed down a lot in the middle. At the end, I'd only shaved about fifty seconds off my previous time.
Yet another 10 km run in Hart's Brook Preserve. This one felt surprisingly good, but it's still taking me almost 62 minutes. I'd like to get it down below an hour, for starters.
Here's my second 10 km run in Hart's Brook Preserve. Feeling a little more confident, if still rather slow and shaky.
Woo hoo! This is the first time I've done a cross-country 10k, or *any* 10k, in years. It felt great! For some reason My Tracks crapped out at 8.46 km. Until that point, I had averaged 10.6 km/hr. I continued until I'd run exactly one hour, so I'm sure I ran at least 10k. I manually edited the track in EveryTrail as best I could, but now it says that the length is...
I managed to do 6 kilometers this time, although I was dragging pretty badly. The wet trail didn't help.
This was one of the first runs I've taken since my knee injury in January. I went slowly, but it felt great to be running any number of miles at all.
This was a very slow run, but it wasn't bad for a guy who's out of shape after slashing his knee open in January.
