Old Coast Road Offroad Trail

Big Sur, California, United States
Offroading | 10.2 miles
One of the activities planned for our pre-Memorial Day weekend getaway was this little jaunt - quite a beautiful little drive!  Stunning redwoods and still plenty of wildflowers, and we still had the trail to ourselves the whole way.  An easy trail that offers plenty of opportunity for photos - I shot video, so need to figure out if I can post that, or need to do some still captures.

Livermore, California, United States
Hiking | 4.6 miles
This parcel in Doolan Canyon, just north of Livermore, CA, is earmarked to become part of the planned Doolan Canyon-Tassajara Hills Regional Preserve.  At this time, the area is not open to the public, but The Save Mount Diablo organization periodically provides the opportunity to participate in group hikes.  The area we hiked today is fairly primitive, without any sort of public facilities or managed trails. A naturalist, a botanist, and folks from...

Geocaching | 3.8 miles
We took the pups out for a hike and some caching.  Harley and Charlie got along great!  We encountered a rattlesnake on the trail, so turned and went in the opposite direction.  Not a bad morning's exercise!
