A quick tour around the Perimeter and Fire roads on Angel Island, both award the rider with amazing views. This is easy biking – Perimeter road is all paved and the Fire road is a well-worn dirt road. Offroad tires are required but you don't need a mountain bike with shocks or anything. Easy day, water and bathrooms exist every few miles and there are many historical landmarks. Drop your bike a...
Nestled away in a really populated area, it is a nice retreat. Very technical trail, but the elevation profile isn't bad at all. This trip was plagued with falls and injuries – much blood was lost.
Great little trail for mountain biking. Non technical but very, very steep. Some bad karma/weariness prevented us from attempting the summit but we'll hit it next time.
A great trail for mountain bikers. Technically challenging but not impossible. Slightly easier than Skeggs or Waterdog – perfect for my level of riding. The hills are rolling, never up or down for too long. This is one of my new favorites (if only it weren't in Marin).
Beautiful if hilly short and non-technical ride.
Park at the MonteBello parking area and take the Canyon trail to Bella Vista trail to Montebello road (or park just north and take the road the whole way) to end up at Ridge Vineyards for a nice wine tasting.
A day spent in El Calafate, which, truth be told, has little to offer. We made the best of it while waiting for the evening's bus by renting a couple bicycles and touring along the coast (After a steep hill climb just to get our heart rates up...). Pleasant, not worth doing if you can get to Chalten or to the south instead.
Headed out Engelman's loop, them worked our way around some unmapped trails and Old Cabin Trail to Eucalyptus and then to Enchanted. Certainly do Enchanted clockwise: you'll hit the technical parts downhill and the uphill will be solid dirt. Then we started our way back, following Wilder Ridge back (making one wrong turn...) to the parking lot through the ranch. A beautiful day, and a gorgeous park. The mountain biking isn't too technical,...
Great ride. Not too technical, lots of rolling jumps, lots of obstacles and fun stuff but you can always go around. Very fun!!
Met up with the MTBCrew for some fun single track and fireroad biking in Monte Bello. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=126022110766000We took it slow and easy. This is always an excellent trip. Lots of shade, lots of sun, lots of downhill, what feels like even more uphill, and gorgeous backcountry.
A quick, fun little mountain bike track. Heavily shaded, sorry about the back GPS track.
A very quick, invigorating afternoon ride before dinner.
Quick ride out to Shoreline and back, with a little bit of exploration along the way
