Hiking Trails and Trips

If you take the right fork at the trailhead you go down to a boarded up house. Just outside is a threatening notice. On the day we were there smoke was rising from the chimney so it appeared to be occupied. The map doesn't indicate any private land at that point so I don't know the story but we decided not to walk past the house.

This is the second leg of the route to get to the trail head to hike down to the american creek.The paved road ends 1.5 miles before the trailhead. There is no obvious parking at the end of the paved road so we decided to drive down. This hike provides a mixture of views together with some good exercise going up the Washburn Trail.Start by walking from the lake car park along Mount Hamilton Road to the entrance adjacent to the blue gate, this is the starting point for the Washburn Trail.
