Guignard Clay Quarry Loop Trail at Congaree Creek Heritage Preserve
by KevinPKing on Oct 21, 2012
Cayce, South Carolina, United States
Hiking | 3.1 miles
This trail is a loop trail through an old, long overgrown  wetlands area that was once a clay quarry for a nearby brick plant. It is a beautiful wetlands area, and a relatively easy hike not far from the urban areas of Columbia, SC. well worth the trip. It is not well known, even locally, and not heavilly traveled. Peaceful and beautiful, and dogs are welcome.

The North Augusta Greeneway (no Greeneway is not misspelled... it is spelled differently to honor the politician that got it done, who was named Greene) Is a 7.5 mile greenway in North Augusta, SC. An additional 2 miles is added when you include the Riverfront Greenway in your ride or walk. The trail is beautiful, and runs through a somewhat surprisingly diverse landscape given its length. It is a rail trail, and has...

Peaks To Prosperity Passage of the Palmetto Trail
by KevinPKing on Aug 24, 2012
Alston, South Carolina, United States
Mountain biking | 22 miles
The Palmetto trail is envisioned to be a trail across the entire state of South Carolina, but it is still a disconnected series of trails at this time. The Peaks To Prosperity Passage is an 11 mile completed rail trail section that passes over 17 trestles in that 11 miles. Nice trail, but hard work on a mountain bike, as it is mostly railroad aggregate surface.

Oak Mountain State Park
by KevinPKing on Jun 04, 2011
Birmingham, Alabama, United States
Mountain biking | 14.7 miles
This is a ride encompassing the ridge trail and several of the parameter trails at Oak Mountain. This is nowhere near all of the trails... there are hiking only trials and more bike trails I didn't even get to. This ride, however, is awesome for the technical mountain bike rider.

Murfreesboro Stones River Greenway
by KevinPKing on May 28, 2011
Murfreesboro, Tennessee, United States
Road biking | 9.5 miles
This is a beautiful greenway about 30 mile south of Nashville. It runs from the historic downtown of Murfreesboro along the Stones River Greenway. This track shows the bicycles allowed section of the trail, and the trail goes on from that point for foot traffic. Not real long, but well worth the drive. The trailhead is at a small part that is populated with old buildings from what looks like a town in the old...

Live Oak Bike Trail / Davis Bayou / Biloxi Ocean Springs Bay Bridge
by KevinPKing on Apr 23, 2011
Ocean Springs, Mississippi, United States
20 miles
This track is a combination of three connected trails in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, which is across the bay bridge from Biloxi. Biloxi has casinos… Ocean Springs has places to ride a bike. The new Bay Bridge has a wide pedestrian/bike lane along the ocean side that runs about 1.5 miles.  There isn’t much to do on the Biloxi side except turn around and ride back… but the bridge itself is the destination, with beautiful views of the coast and...

Shelby Farms / Wolf River
by KevinPKing on Apr 12, 2011
Memphis, Tennessee, United States
Road biking | 29 miles
This trip encompasses two greenways (Shelby Farms Greenway and Wolf River Greenway) and internal park trails at Shelby Farms Park. There are some double tracked areas that  were unavoidable as I attempted to ride every paved trail in the combined area. This is a nice trail, partially on an old rail line, that is very flat, making for easy riding. As you can tell from the pictures, this is a really beautiful...

Walking | 0.8 miles
Nestled inside the Inverness area off highway 280 are several small lakes, one of which has a hiking and walking trail around it. This trail is beautiful and quiet, yet just a few hundred yards away from one of the busiest highways in Birmingham.  The trail passes through the patio areas outside of business buildings and through the forest around the lake for eight tenths of a mile. It is near the...

Road biking | 40 miles
The Timpoochee trail is an asphalt (mostly) trail that runs along side Florida Scenic Highway 30A southeast of Ft. Walton Beach. It runs through several small coastal communities and has some really awesome views of forested inland coastal Florida. It is a relatively flat ride and well maintained outside of urban areas. There are no beach views. That was the good part... This trail has long sections in overdeveloped coastal communities where it...
